Hi, I’m Tamer. A clean beauty makeup artist based in Squamish, BC. This is my green story.

I’ve always been in love with nature. I grew up in a small mountain town, skiing in the winter, hiking in the summer.

When I started working as a makeup artist, it was all about using big brands and high-end products. While these performed well, as I learned more about their ingredients and how they can impact our health, I decided to go green. I swapped out my own beauty routine first and saw a huge transformation in my skin! I knew then I had to find a way to offer this to my clients.

Back then clean beauty wasn’t a thing. You really had to search for it. I played around with Burt’s Bees and whatever I could find in health food stores. In time, brands like Juice Beauty, Arbonne, and Beautycounter popped up. They changed my life.

Today, there’s plenty of gorgeous brands in the clean beauty space that offer healthy, high-performing choices that are backed by science. I think there’s a misconception, especially with Gen Z, that green beauty doesn’t deliver. But I can tell you from my own transformation, and from years of using both clean and conventional products on my clients, that it absolutely does.

The truth is, your makeup and skincare doesn’t have to be unsafe or contain questionable chemicals to be effective. It can be good for you and kind to the planet while still giving you amazing results!

Thanks for checking out my space. This is what lights me up, and I’m honoured to be able to share with you what I’ve learned over the years.

Yours in clean beauty,

Tamer x

Weddings

My first wedding was in Vancouver in the summer of 1999. Her name was Kim. His name was Josh. They lived in the suite just below me.

Kim had dark hair, milky white skin, and a few freckles scattered across the bridge of her nose. We chose shimmery pink lids, black fluttery lashes, a pop of soft colour on the cheeks & glossy lips. It was simple but beautiful. I think my fee was $30.

What I remember most about that day was the energy. That wedding day energy! Fast forward 25 years and hundreds of faces later, and it’s still one of my favourite things to do on a sunny summer day!
